good meeting

find myself really growing to love some of the other vineyard pastors in our area as we get to know one another over time. it was refreshing and encouraging to meet together in Owosso today. much laughter and love (ask me in person some time about what I learned from Jim Pool about how penguin reproductive practices reflect deep truths about the nature of faith). Don Milton (New Life Vineyard in Midland) is our new area pastoral care leader (my dad was doing that previously, but is now the regional overseer, so he's passed it on to Don), and he's doing an excellent job. he obviously cares for all of us a great deal, and led a great discussion on protecting / fostering / nourishing moral integrity within our lives as leaders. also a sweet time of worship and prayer for one another to close the meeting. it sure is invigorating to be in the company of such humble, excellent servants of the King.

find myself beginning sentences with "find myself" more frequently now. i think jesse's blog is rubbing off on me! ;) heheh...

speaking of idiosyncracies, i'm going to put together a little list of over-used words and exspressions in the ann arbor vineyard. see if any of these sound familiar: "on my radar screen", "let's touch base", "opportunity"...

okay, to be fair i should poke fun at myself too... hmmm, where to begin?

okay, i know that i overuse the words "cool," "awesome," and "interesting."

but the worst part is that sometimes i won't really be listening to the other personon and i'll say "that's awesome" with a complete deadpan delivery... imagine Eeyore (from Winnie the Pooh) saying "awesome". i think it drives julie crazy.

i can't imagine don listening but not listening....that is a joke because i have been on the receiving end of the "Awesome" - but thats ok! i use way too many exclamation points in my email/blog and even had someone say they didnt want to come back to alpha because i sent them an email with too many exclamation points in it!

anyways jesse - the pistons are staying at the hotel i am at in san antonio - they arrive here in 2 hours and the manager is letting us know when they arrive so we can sneak a peek! pray for a good game 6 because i get to GO!!!!

laughing out loud reading these! man I have a lot of sayings that tumble out without thought, "finding myself" being one of them for sure. "sweet" might be the most common. the a2 vineyard ones have probably infected me too.

and i'm sure Don always listens to us, Amy. he's probably just talking about other people!

And thats amazing about the pistons! crazy cool. tell Joey D. said hi. i have his shoes, so i'm sure he knows who i am :)

okay, here are 2 more over-used expressions: "pressing it out" and "heads up"

that's awesome about attending game 6! maybe you can throw a cup of water at the spurs' bench and start a riot! only do that if we're losing.
